Since early 2020, The Wellcome Trust has been committed to reducing the environmental impact of the travel they fund. Their requirements and expectations can be found in the Wellcome Trust Carbon Offset Policy for Travel.

For all research projects where there is a collaboration partner, who isn't a UKRI HEI, the University are required by the funder to conduct some due diligence checks on the partner.  These requirements and the differences in what information is required is outlined in the Due Diligence process for research projects.

The university has a policy on the Acceptance of Research and Innovation funding. The purpose of the policy is to establish a set of principles and procedures to ensure there is a standard approach to external funding acceptance, adhering to ethical considerations and managing reputational risk.
